PLOT
*Total Drama Island* is a fictional reality show set on Camp Wawanakwa, a made-up island located somewhere in Muskoka, Ontario. The competition features twenty-two teenagers who participate in various challenges to avoid being voted off by their peers. The grand prize for the winner is C$100,000. The show is hosted by Chris McLean, with assistance from Chef Hatchet. The campers are divided into two teams at the beginning of the season. The first team, the Screaming Gophers, includes Owen, Trent, Gwen, Izzy, Heather, Lindsay, Justin, Noah, Cody Anderson, Beth, and LeShawna. The second team, the Killer Bass, consists of Duncan, DJ, Bridgette, Tyler, Eva, Courtney, Katie, Sadie, Harold McGrady, Geoff, and Ezekiel. The team names reflect a mix of real and exaggerated traits: the Screaming Gophers are named for their noisy communication, while the Killer Bass name is more figurative, as bass are usually preyed upon by larger animals.
